A New Spin on Pop-Up.

This Saturday night just past l hosted my new spin on a Pop-Up Dinner. Wine Wars!

Fabulously fun, beautiful menu, a whole load of stemware...... and oodles of fun.

Five couples, five courses, each couple were given a course to pair with in advance then asked on the night to bring two bottles of the same wine -  one bottle for the kitty, the other for the table at the appropriate time course wise.

The object was to see post dinner which wine pairing won the most votes. The winning vote/winning couple would take the celebratory kitty home....Score!


Blue Cheese Crostini with Pear Salad ( Champagne)

Trout, Roasted Asparagus with Warm Pine-Nut Dressing and Fennel Puree. (Sauvignon Blanc)

Grilled Butterflied Leg of Lamb with Sheep's Feta, Edamame, Pea, Mint and Roasted Red Onion,Salad. (Chianti Classico)

Cheese Course with Pickled Grapes (Hard Cider)

Spicy Ginger and Pear Upside-Down Cake with Homemade Beet Ice Cream. (Muscat)
